A Beginner’s Guide to Being Social on the Web: How to Get Started and Make the Most of It!
From blogs to Twitter, social networking is becoming a standard form of online communication. In this 3-part class you will learn about the world of social media, its many applications, and how to participate. We’ll cover everything from definitions to the many types of networking, including the general (MySpace, Facebook), the action based (LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter), website favorites/bookmarking (Del.ico.us), news (Digg, Reddit), and even niche (you name a hobby or profession and there’s likely a site!). You’ll then create your own profiles at the major networks and use popular features like sharing photos, videos, and status updates, and joining groups of like-minded individuals – it’s social media, right?

In this class, Brandon Butler will introduce you to the basic elements of fly fishing: necessary equipment, how to catch fish on a fly rod, where to go fly fishing, basic fly tying, and other elements of fly fishing culture.
